MLA E-Mail Mailing Lists
MLA E-Mail Mailing Lists are hosted by the University of Manitoba.
These lists are powered by Mailman, the GNU Mailing List Manager, and a straightforward interface is utilized for managing your subscription to a given list.
There are a few private lists (closed, by invitation only) belonging to the MLA for the MLA Executive Board and other special and standing committees, but the following lists are publicly available for general MLA members and anyone interested in participating in the forums listed below in a Manitoba context:
The MLA-NEWS list provides MLA Members and other interested individuals with a forum for discussion of current and general issues of interest to Manitoba libraries. To subscribe to MLA-NEWS, visit http://lists.umanitoba.ca/mailman/listinfo/mla-news
The MLA-NP list provides a forum for new information professionals who are either new to the profession or new to Manitoba (or both) and it also welcomes seasoned professionals and those who have lived in Manitoba for sometime who are interested in being a mentor and a resource to newbies. To subscribe to MLA-NP, visit http://lists.umanitoba.ca/mailman/listinfo/mla-np
The MLA-RURAL list provides rural library professionals with a forum for discussion of issues concerning rural Manitoba libraries. While some topics on this forum may overlap with and be of interest to the MLA-NEWS list, the focus of the MLA-RURAL list is to provide a concentrated focus to the many challenges of practice in a rural setting. To subscribe to MLA-RURAL, visit http://lists.umanitoba.ca/mailman/listinfo/mla-rural
The MLA-TRUSTEES list provides trustees, boards and administrators with a forum for discussion of management, planning, organization and other board issues of interest to their Manitoba library/libraries. Sharing leadership and vision and best or better practices in forming this vision is the focus of this forum.
