Staff Research Officer
University of Winnipeg Faculty Association
2 to 2.5 days/wk

The University of Winnipeg Faculty Association (UWFA) is seeking a part-time staff researcher (2 to 2.5 days/week) to assist with the following:

Responsibilities:

- Provide research support and other expertise to assist the Association with collective bargaining;
- Provide research support and assistance for grievance handling;
- Provide support for other activities undertaken by the Association, such as the Status of Women Standing Committee;
- Provide support and, when appropriate, consultation for UWFA policy development;
- Work with the UWFA Communications Standing Committee to develop information for the membership and/or the broader community;
- Report regularly, or as needed at meetings of the UWFA Executive

Qualifications:

Excellent communication and research skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Extensive knowledge of trade union or labour issues. Familiarity with academic unions or policy environment is preferred. A degree or extensive background/experience in law or industrial relations would be an asset.

Salary commensurate with experience
