Post-secondary education with a major in History desired; a library technician's certificate plus one year of library experience or a library technician's diploma desired. Exposure to office routines as well as two years of related academic library experience and/or training required. Experience with microcomputer applications, including Word and the Libraries' online system, required; experience with EAD and XMetal desired. Archival experience, including RAD, desired. Familiarity with archival concepts desired; familiarity with library concepts and procedures is an asset. Familiarity with the University and its administrative functions is an asset. Basic keyboard skills required. Proven research skills required. Demonstrated ability to learn and apply automated and manual procedures essential. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, essential. Ability to work in harmony with others required. Demonstrated good judgement in effectively applying standard archival practices required. Ability to work on own initiative and with little supervision required. Demonstrated organizational ability required. Satisfactory work record, including attendance and punctuality, required. Representative Duties: 1.
