ADVERTISEMENT NUMBER: 14230 SALARY RANGE: $32,247 to $36,975 per year CLOSING DATE: November 12, 2004 QUALIFICATIONS: A Library Technician Certificate/Diploma from a recognized program with related experience, or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience, is required. A sound knowledge of both official languages is essential. Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and to work independently is essential. Flexibility, good organizational and communication skills are required. Library experience using or managing reference and interlibrary loan is preferred. Experience working with francophone clients would be an asset as would experience working with library software using MARC format. Familiarity with computer software, GEAC, Microsoft Word and experience using Répertoire de vedettes-matière de l’Université Laval would be an asset. DUTIES: This position, under the direction of the Head of Circulation, is responsible for the maintenance, development and cataloguing of the French and multilingual collection and services. Other duties include locating and circulating materials and providing library collection support for rural and northern Manitoba public libraries.
