Williams Law Library Type of Position: Existing budget funded continuing Hours of Work: 35 hours per week* Wage or Salary: $28,410.20 to $35,380.80 per annum Start Date: As soon as possible Probation or Trial Period: 420 hours worked Applications to be received by: 4:00 p.m., January 5, 2004 Qualifications: High school completion plus diploma from a library technician’s programme or equivalent relevant library experience and/or training required. A university education in a related field an asset. Knowledge of library online circulation systems essential. Three years of related academic or law library experience preferred. Familiarity with library concepts and procedures required. Experience with University of Manitoba financial management systems preferred. Knowledge of and experience with DRA/SIRSI circulation system preferred. Demonstrated ability to learn and apply automated and manual library procedures essential. Effective communication skills in English, both written and oral, essential. Ability to work independently and in harmony with others essential. Ability to work with minute details with minimum error required. Ability to supervise part-time staff required. Satisfactory work record including punctuality and attendance required. Representative Duties: The incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support to the unit and Unit Head and acting as the unit’s telephone receptionist. On Sundays and evenings (Monday to Thursday) provides circulation and reference services to library patrons and supervises one part-time Library Assistant I.
