LIBRARIAN
12-month maternity leave position

DUCKS UNLIMITED CANADA

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), Canada's Conservation Company, is seeking a Librarian. The Oak Hammock Marsh library contains approximately 5000 items, including 26 current journal subscriptions in wetland ecology, waterfowl biology and related fields. The library supports the work of the Institute for Wetland and Waterfowl Research, as well as DUC staff from across Canada.

As a solo librarian, the successful candidate will be responsible for all of the daily operation of the library, including:

  • Providing reference service to staff
  • Managing the serials subscriptions
  • Collection development and acquisitions
  • Cataloguing library materials
  • Interlibrary loans
The successful candidate will have an MLIS degree from an accredited library school or a library technician diploma, experience in database and internet searching, and the ability to work independently. Knowledge of biological, environmental or natural resources subjects would be an asset.

This is a 12-month maternity leave position which offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and education. Employment will start in mid-August.
