ADVERTISEMENT NUMBER: 14978 SALARY: $46,904 to $57,047 per year CLOSING DATE: June 24, 2005 QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a Library Science degree from an accredited university with several years experience in a library setting supplemented with an Education degree with specialization in multicultural or Aboriginal education and experience in a school setting. Experience providing research and reference services, bibliographies and workshops are essential. Excellent organizational, collaborative and oral and written communication skills are essential. Experience developing publications and programs are required. In-depth knowledge of the Provincial curricula is essential. Knowledge of the issues and trends in providing library and consultative services to Manitoba’s ethnocultural and Aboriginal communities are necessary. Preference will be given to Aboriginal people and visible minorities. Applicants must indicate this in their covering letter. DUTIES: Working in the Library, Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth, the incumbent provides consultative and instructional services to Manitoba educators, Department staff, and ethnocultural and Aboriginal communities. The incumbent is responsible for the Multiculture Educational Resource Collection and Aboriginal information services; works cooperatively with the multicultural and Aboriginal communities in developing publications and programs; and participates in the selection of learning resources that support curriculum implementation. The incumbent delivers a wide range of educational support for Manitoba teachers and Departmental staff, including workshops, bibliographies, publications, and research and reference services.
