The AFM is a crown agency contributing to the health and well being of
Manitobans by addressing the harm associated with
addictions through education, prevention, rehabilitation and research. AFM
has 300 employees with regional offices
located in Winnipeg, Brandon and Thompson, and with satellite offices
throughout the province.
AFM’s Library is open to the public and is located in Winnipeg at 1031
Portage Avenue. The library circulates the largest
collection of resources on addictions and related issues in Western Canada.
We currently have an opening for a summer
student position Monday through Friday 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. This position
is being partially funded through the Human
Resources and Skills Development Canada’s Summer Career Placement
Initiative, therefore applicants must meet the
requirements specified by this program which include: RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of a Library Team member, the summer student will perform duties as assigned relating to collection maintenance, development and circulation. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software STUDENTS CAN EXPECT HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE IN SUCH AREAS AS:
- Using the Sydney Automated Library System It is AFM practice to conduct a criminal record check and child abuse registry check prior to finalizing employment. Salary:$9.50 / hour Closing Date: Monday, June 20th, 2005 Start Date: Monday, June 27th, 2005
